Stone Hall Dormitories

Chilled water feasibility

To stay ahead of the curve, Harvard University evaluated the current HVAC System in the Stone Hall Dormitories to determine if the system was properly maintaining the comfort for students.

THE SOLUTION

Harvard called upon the TERVA Engineering Team to provide design services for a chilled water feasibility study to review the HVAC System in Dormitories. The Team performed a complete investigation of the building to gain an understanding of the dormitory room types and the spaces and areas served by the existing HVAC System.

Load calculations were performed using Trane Trace 3D to determine the required amount of cooling in the dormitories prior to switching the building over to be served by chilled water. The Team ensured code compliance and safety requirements were met to the fullest degree for a successful project completion.
