EXP Building

Northeastern University’s new EXP Building, a 350,000sf state-of-the-art research center is located between the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC) and Ruggles Station.

Building for the Future

The new building is designed to promote collaboration and includes teaching and research labs, classrooms, makerspace, space for innovative work with robots and drones, and a café and faculty club. The exterior design will complement the newly completed Science and Engineering Complex and pedestrian bridge which connects the two buildings.

The TERVA Engineering Team was brought in to manage the building automation controls consulting for the Owner and Owner’s Project Manager. The TERVA Team will provide services including design reviews, submittal reviews, installation reviews, oversight during commissioning on controls and post occupancy operation. The systems that were commissioned including air handling units, chilled beams, fume hoods, heat exchangers, boilers, cooling towers, strobic exhaust system, hot water system, and more.
